Energy network makeover for brewery with fluctuating energy demands

This famous Belgian brewery was expanding its activities and their energy demands, preferably sustainable energy, increased.. Since the production plant is located near the city center, low noise levels are of great importance.

Gas turbine with flying take-over and 2 back-up boilers with deep modulation lead to faultless batch process

The expansion of the brewery made us examine the efficiency of the entire energy network on the plant. We spotted various points of improvement and set the preparations in motion for a gas-fired cogeneration system; an excellent choice considering the fluctuating energy demands.

Surely/After all, the batch process causes volumes to differ from day to day and even from hour to hour. A gas turbine with flying take-over and 2 back-up boilers with deep modulation was the perfect solution to make everything run smoothly and efficiently.

Cogeneration as silent as the local library

The location of the brewery is exceptional: at the entrance of the city center. That’s why we opted to set the noise levels far below the set standards. The boiler room’s activities stay well under 35 dB(A) which makes it as silent as the local library.
